Hello and happy almost Halloween!
I love this season and decorating my spaces to bring the fall feeling indoors. I have been scrolling Pinterest looking for DIY projects and kept scrolling past these candlesticks before trying it out myself. Overall, I’m pretty impressed with how they turned out especially in a darker space. I am also planning to add a string through the bottom to hang for halloween.
The only materials you will need are:
- Empty toilet paper rolls
- hot glue
- fake tea candles
- white paint
- optional: string and a needle

I started with hot glueing around the interior of the toilet paper roll. The line will become a ledge that the tea candle will sit on. Keep adding layers to the hot glue builds towards the centre and the tea candle doesn’t fall through. Let this dry enough so it won’t slide before moving on to the next step.

Apply quite a lot of hot glue in drips around the side. I found that my hot glue didn’t drip enough so I had to make the drips by focusing more glue where the drip should end and then applying upwards.

Before moving on to paint, make sure to double check that the tea candle fits!

Finally, paint your candle! The DIY instructions I came across used spray paint, but I didn’t have any lying around so decided to use acrylic. I found this worked great and just applied a couple of coats to give the same effect!
Let dry and then if you would like puncture through the tube using a sewing needle just below the candle ledge in order to hang.
Let me know if you also try out this DIY!
