Hello!
I’ve shared with you before ways to get your students moving throughout the day here, but also wanted to share with you ways to bring calm and mindfulness into the classroom. Taking a couple moments to breathe with your students while stretching can help with focus and allows students to reset after lunch or between activities.
I am by no means a yoga expert, but do enjoy a class from time to time. I always find that I feel calmer, clearer and overall better after a class so why wouldn’t our students as well.
This PDF I have attached is an easy way to incorporate some simple yoga moves into the class. I laminated the sheet and added a spinner to it so we can do yoga as a whole class under the document camera. Students also have the agency and the choice that if they feel they need to stretch or take a short break, they are welcome to spin the spinner a couple of times and follow along with the movements.

Let me know if you try it in your classroom! I would love to hear about it!
