Hello!
I’m sure I am not alone when I talk about how dry my hands have been this last little while. All the hand washing I’ve been doing and hand sanitizer I have been using has left my hands so dry and flaky. In an effort to save them and remove any dry skin I’ve been making a simple sugar hand scrub I wanted to share. Not only is this great to have by your sink, but it also makes a great diy gift for Mother’s Day that is just around the corner (hint hint). This recipe uses common ingredients you have around your house and substitutions are so easy! Here we go…
Start with 1/2 cup of sugar and add in 5 tsp of oil. Now, I used a combination of liquid coconut oil and extra virgin olive oil. Whatever oil you have around will work, just be mindful when choosing. For example, coconut oil is great for moisturizing the skin and olive oil is an antioxidant.

If the consistency is not what you desire, continue adding oil until consistency you would like is reached. I don’t like my scrub too oily as I don’t want a lot of oil residue on my hands after scrubbing. Just enough to slightly clump the sugar is what I’m looking for!
When you have the consistency you like, add about 8-10 drops of your favourite essential oil to give it a more spa life feel. I went with Saje Tranquility.
Then place is a sealable container and your scrub should last up to a week!
*A little trick for a container: I used an old hair mask jar I had laying around and used a bit of oil to remove any sticky residue left behind from the labels.

I like to use my scrub daily and always follow up with hand cream to really moisturize my hands.
Enjoy!
